DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A man was shot and killed Christmas night in Decatur. The Decatur Police Department was called to the 900 block of W. View St. at 5:07 p.m. for gunshots. Officers found a 32-year-old man with at least one gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have launched an urgent appeal for information after a man in his 30s was sexually assaulted on Christmas Day.

Mahad Elmi, 27, left the open jail in Buckinghamshire and is now unlawfully at large, Thames Valley Police said.
