Yesterday, June 24th, Locomotive 492's boiler was full of water and pressure tested, one of the first steps in assessing its condition. The next step is to remove the boiler tubes. The C&TS is currently restoring 492 which is a K-37 class 2-8-2 Mikado and one of the largest 2-8-2s to ever operate on the Denver & Rio Grande Western narrow gauge lines.
